I Cure Cancer began as my 2006 documentary and later became this book—an exploration of alternative and holistic approaches to cancer that I encountered through years of research, filmmaking and interviews.
The book examines the work and theories of Bernardo Majalca and other alternative-health practitioners, along with the experiences of people who attributed improvements in their health to dietary, nutritional and holistic approaches. It includes discussion of Majalca's alkaline-balancing protocol and the theories behind it.
I also examine conventional cancer treatment, nutrition, lifestyle, personal responsibility and the importance of researching the choices available when facing a serious illness.
The title I Cure Cancer reflects one of the central ideas explored in the film and book: becoming an active participant in your own health rather than surrendering responsibility for it.
